Getting to Know Us!

Last November, we did a post about things we are grateful for.  Well, tonight, it's time to learn a little bit more about each of us (and we've let our sister, Flor, participate this time)!

I'm Bo and I'm 7 years old.  My birthday is in April.  Being Mommy's first pup, I had a few years alone with her and at the end of the day, I am a TOTAL Mommy's boy (and her favorite)!  I LOVE playing fetch (I always bring the toy back, although I may not drop it), I've never met a stranger, giving kisses is a must, playing in water is amazing and I always follow Mommy around.  Mommy dresses me up a lot and wearing shirts may not be my favorite thing but I don't feel right without a bandana on. I've also got three pups that stayed in the family! I may not like car rides, belly rubs, or storms, but I will always LOVE you!

I'm Rex.  My birthday is in November and I'm 6 years old.  I am Mommy's protector but give me a few minutes and I'll love you too.  Or maybe just like you.  Mommy's got tons of nicknames for me and I am known as Sexy Rexi by some people.  I'm a cancer survivor and Grandma's favorite.  I LOVE eating poop (I know you think this is gross but I consider it a delicacy), belly rubs, romping around in the grass, chewing on antlers, sitting in Mommy's lap during car rides, and my brother and sister.  I may not be able to be alone, don't really like playing fetch and would rather be carried than walk anywhere, but give me a few minutes and I'll make you fall in love with me too!

I'm Flor, my birthday is in July and I'm three years old!  I was not always in the family with the boys, but am so glad I'm a part of the fam now!  I miss my old Mommy a lot but LOVE having two brothers!  I also LOVE giving kisses (watch out or I'll get the roof of your mouth), meeting new people, looking out the window on car rides, chasing my brother Rex, and playing with rabbits!  I don't really like belly rubs, would rather be outside no matter the weather, and whine when I don't get my way, but I guarantee you'll LOVE being around me with my wild attitude and love of life!

A Birthday and More Thank-fuls!

Yesterday was MY BIRTHDAY!  Yes, I am SIX now!  I begged Mommy to let me watch Beverly Hills Chihuahua, The Movie, one more time but she said no.  So instead I lounged, stuffed my face (with things I won't mention here), and loved on my Mommy and brother and sister.  Overall, it was a great day!
Here I am over the years.  I've just gotten better with time, dontcha think?!

And my Mommy and I - she gives the best cuddles!

And since today is Thanksgiving, I figured I finish out our list of thankfuls...
  • We are both thankful for blankets - especially ones from the baby section at Target!  They make our home so warm and soft for the times when Mommy isn't home.
  • I'm thankful for birthdays - another year I've gotten to spend with my Mommy and my brother, Bo!
  • No squeak toys - you have no idea how annoying it is when my brother, Bo gets a toy and won't stop squeaking it!
  • We both love the holidays too - we get to get all dressed up and take fun pictures that get sent to all our friends!  So fun!
  • And last but not least, we are both thankful for TV.  We love it when Mommy leaves it on when she leaves - we've learned so much about some family called The Kardashians - they be cray.  And we're totally up to date on all the latest fashion and movie reviews.

That's it for now.  Time for bed - it's been a long, turkey filled day!

Finally, some updates!

Things have been crazy and busy for us around here lately - hence the lack of posts.  Sorry about that!

First and foremost, my brother Rex, healed well after his knee surgery.  He's still getting way more attention that my sister and I but I suppose he deserves it.  With two surgeries already this year and all, he needs a little TLC.  There was one night during his recovery, when he was still having to sleep in a kennel with the CONE OF SHAME (ha) on, that Mommy got a good picture of his miserableness...

Poor baby, Rex.

Anyhow, over the last few weeks, we've got to do a lot of fun things.  Like babysitting this super cute girl, Addie.  I feel like Flor is more Rex's side-kick so it was nice to have one of my own for the weekend.

Addie, bottom right.  Isn't she adorable?!

This last week we got to visit our Grandma and Grandpa's as Rex had follow-up appointments - one for his knee and one for his liver.  We had so much fun on our mini-vacay and we even found out that the liver cancer they found in Rex almost 7 months ago has NOT come back!  Woof Woof!  I was very worried that my brother was going to have to go through more surgery - not only is that painful and exhausting, but I'm tired of him getting all the attention.  Who wouldn't be?!

Oh and how could I forget - we have a roommate now - a human one.  I have no idea what our Mommy was thinking when she said it was ok for another human to live with us but lucky for us, we kinda like her and she seems to like us.  We haven't "broken in" her room yet so we'll see how much she still likes us after we get that taken care of!

Anyhow, that's all for now. Until next time...

Thank Goodness for Pain Meds!

This last week has been a roller-coaster!  Things have been crazy for all of us, especially Rex.  Last weekend, Rex and Mommy were sitting on the couch and when Mommy and Rex got up, Rex yelped!  It scared all of us.  From then on, Rex couldn't use his back right leg - at all!  It was obvious something was very wrong.

Monday morning Mommy got up early and called the vet doctor in Houston and got Rex the earliest available appointment - Thursday morning.  But we were in Waco!  I was really confused until Tuesday when Mommy came by the house and picked up Rex AND Flor and they didn't come back later...I was worried but I finally figured out that they were in Houston!  And how sweet of Mommy to send Flor along!  Her and Rex are very close so I'm sure Rex enjoyed the company but more than anything, I enjoyed my special time with just my Mommy and me!

I heard Mommy tell someone that Rex was having surgery Friday and we would get him back on Saturday.  I was very worried about him but he did so great!  It was wonderful to have him back around on Saturday.

During all this, Flor had a great time swimming at her Aunt's house!  And so did I when I got there this weekend!  It was so amazing!!!

Here's a few pictures of Rex too.  You can see the pins and plates in his leg in the x-ray!  Hard to believe he tore both his ACL and Meniscus.  And the square on his back/butt!  Ha!  Crazy surgeons!!

For now, it's lots of rest for Rex so things are a little boring around here for Flor and I but I'm so happy to have Rex back!

Guest Post from Mommy!!

Yes, this is Bo and Rex's Mommy here!  I thought I would give you all an update on my boys, mainly Rex.  We went to the vet this past week for a check up.  They did blood work, got a stool sample, checked his ears, the whole 9-yards.  Both Bo and Rex were subjected to this.  What a mean Mommy I am huh?!?!

Anyhow, later on that day, I got a call from the vet with results from one of the blood test and unfortunately, Rex's liver "levels" are rising again.  At this point, they're still within normal range, but they are rising nonetheless.  Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.  I certainly don't want him to have to go through all the cancer stuff again (needle pricks, ultrasounds, surgery, etc) and I'm sure he would rather not as well!

And don't worry - the boys will be back to blogging later this week!

please forgive us!!

OMG, it has been way too long.  SOOOO much has happened in our fabulous lives since you last heard from us.  But, we promise (or at least I do) that we are back to stay this time...don't tell our Mommy that we're telling you this but she taught a class at Baylor this past semester and was super busy, and she used that as her excuse to blow off this blog of ours - we were not so happy about that but at least we're back now!

So, here's a few pics from the last few months of our lives:

Meet FLOR!  She's our poodle girlfriend and we LOVE her!  She's been staying with us since January since her human mom moved for an internship but we are secretly hoping we get to keep her fur-ever!

Check out our new collars we got! We're very proud of them!

This is a pic taken by our Mommy during the car ride we took to meet our new niece, Gwynevere!  We were so excited to meet her and lick her and sniff her...

This is Gwynevere!  What dog wouldn't LOVE this sweet tasting (and looking) little girl?!?!

Don't be shocked, I'm fine now - promise!  But I did have to have major surgery...it was really scary but my Mommy and Flor and especially Bo took really good care of me.  The doctors said I had liver cancer but they think they got it all - we'll know for sure in August when we go back for another ultrasound.  For now, I'm doing great, and you wouldn't even know something was wrong if I didn't have a huge scar down my belly!

That's it for now.  The goal is to post at least once per week, which is doable, as long as Mommy let's me get on the computer...

It's a Ruff Life!

We've been busy being awesome.  Sorry to keep you all waiting for a new post.  Not only have we been going to Dogtopia and playing with our fav friends, but we had a visit from our Auntie, and are patiently awaiting the arrival of a new cousin!  Yes, that's right, our Auntie is preggers!

Anyhow, today at daycare was another good day of course.  We had Wee Wednesday and got to play with our other "wee" friends, you know - the 10ish and under pounds pups.  And my brother got a hair cut.  Not only did her get a hair cut though, he got what I've heard our Mommy call a "pony."

BUT, not only did her get a pony, he got a bow!  HAHA!  HE got a BOW!  Are the words supposed to go together?  I think not. But like Bo said, "I've got kids dude.  I'm secure in my manhood.  Let our Mommy put whatever she wants on my head..."

Whatever!  You will never see me in a bow.  Don't care, won't do it.

Well, it's about bed time.  Like I say, it's a ruff life!

Fresh Air in Here!

So you may or may not have heard yet but our Mommy has quit smoking!  Yippee!  My brother and I couldn't be more excited for her, and for ourselves, of course!

We know she's been trying to stop this horrible, nasty habit for a long time but hopefully this is it.  We need her around fur-ever!

It's been too long (especially in doggie years)...

Yeah, I know, I know.  It seems we've been MIA for a while now.  But trust me when I say we've been busy!

Ok, a little busy.  But we haven't forgotten about all our loyal readers.  I can promise you that!

Anyhow, back to my bro and I...not only have we spent time with our friends over the last two weeks, but we've also spent lots of extra time hanging with our mommy, visiting that human-baby thing, Caleb, sometimes done a little dieting (yeah, I know, again, I'm working on it though), and gone to Dogtopia - and had Chihuahua day there one of the days!

If Chihuahua Day at Dogtopia wasn't fun, then I don't know what is!  I did a little tug-of-war, fetch, and bubble chasing with all my other Chihuahua friends...actually, more like cousins.  It's always great to hang out with my family...er, I mean friends!

Anyhow, I'm exhausted and my brother wants to play.  Gotta go - gonna satisfy my bro for a second then back to couch for cuddle time with Mommy!

Babysitting is a hard job!

The other day our Mommy told us we would have a visitor for a few days.  So, this past Thursday, our friend Boston showed up!

Yeah, he's cute, I guess.  Whatever.  Anyhow, I had no idea babysitting was going to be this hard!  Boston is full of energy, covered in curly fur, and super exhausting for me!

For the first few days, I tried to stay away from him, letting my brother Bo handle the babysitting.  I was not in the mood.   But I woke up a new dog today.  And this morning was fun!  I'm already exhausted.

Boston goes home tomorrow and I'm not sure I'm too happy about that.  Except I will have the whole bed, all the toys, and my Mommy all to myself again (ok, fine.  I'll still share with Bo)!!!
